Children's Ministry

Sunday School
9:15AM - 10:15AM every Sunday from Labor Day to Memorial Day

Our 2017-2018 Sunday school year will begin on Sunday, September 10th. Registration forms are available below or in the Narthex at church. Completed forms can be dropped off at church or emailed to Kayla Brunkow, Director of Children's Ministries, at kayla@alexumc.org.

Camp Sunday - Sunday, February 11th 
11:30AM - 12:30PM in Fellowship Hall

We will have our annual Soup'r Sundae Lunch following the 10:30AM worship service on February 11th. There will be a free will offering during the lunch and all proceeds will go towards camperships for our children and youth. Camperships are available to all children and youth that attend a Christian camp. There are awarded on a first come, first serve basis. A child or youth can receive a campership for half the cost of their registration up to $125.

Lent Actvities
5:30PM - 7:30PM every Wednesday Evening from February 14th - March 21st 

All children and their families are invited to participate in Lenten activities on Wednesday evenings beginning February 14th. Each week we will hear a different story from the events of Holy Week and create a craft or symbol that reminds us of the story. We will use these symbols to create a series of banners that will be displayed in the sanctuary. At the end of Lent the banners will collectively tell the stories of Holy Week.

Family Fun Events
Held at various times throughout the year.

Several events are held throughout the year for children and their families. These activities are often free or have minimal costs associated with them and emphasize Christian Fellowship. Below are our upcoming events.

     Sunday, February  18th: Sledding at Kensington Runestone Park
     Families are invited to Kensington Runestone Park at 2:00PM for an afternoon of
     sledding. 
Snacks and refreshments will be provided, but please bring your own sled.

     April 20th: Family Fun Night at Church
     Supper will be served at 5:
30PM with actvities to follow. Details will be posted closer to
     the event date.
 

Family VBS
5:30PM - 7:30PM on June 24th, June 25th, July 1st, and July 2nd

Family VBS is back in Summer 2018! Save the dates listed above. During VBS, families will venture onto an uncharted island where they will survive and thrive. They will be anchored in knowing the truth that Jesus carries them through life's storms. More information will be available in April.
