Trust Fund

The Alexandria United Methodist Trust Fund was set up in 1997 with the purpose of providing a source of funds for worthy programs and projects. These projects can be within the church, the community, and in the world. The Board of the Trust Fund is made of up five members and the funds are professionally managed. Each January the board determines a spending policy for the year. This allocation follows guidelines as stated in the bylaws. Since 2014, over $70,000 has been given to non-profits through a granting process. Previous recipients have included Elder Network, Douglas County Car Care Program, Dodoma Tanzania Health Partnership, Butterfly Hill Nature Preschool, Alexandria YMCA, UMC Fellowship Gardens, the Alex UMC Roof Project, Runestone Museum and the Lowell and Ruth Gess Eye Hospital in Sierra Leone, Africa. The Grant Application requests information about the organization and specifics of the project or program that is requesting funding. The Board carefully reviews these requests and distributes funds to those requests that are deemed worthy and most consistent with its purpose. In 2024, $10,000 has been allocated for distribution.
